From the May 2026 letter

A letter worth reading slowly.

Each A4 letter is written as if it were a personal correspondence — thoughtful, unhurried, rooted in practice. Here is a passage from this month's Nadi Shodhana letter.

Nadi Shodhana — The Breath That Balances

Pranayama series · Vol. 01

There is a passage in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika that describes the breath as a bird held in the hand. Hold too tightly and it suffocates. Open your hand entirely and it flies away. The practice is the middle distance — present, attentive, not grasping.

Nadi Shodhana, alternate nostril breathing, teaches exactly this. The left nostril cools; the right warms. To move between them deliberately — to seal one and open the other — is to learn that balance is not a fixed point but a continuous, conscious returning.

This month, I invite you to practise for just five minutes each morning. Not as discipline. As curiosity. What does it feel like to begin the day having already offered your full attention to something?

The practice behind the practice

Letters of Presence began with a single question.

What if the thing that helps people most with their yoga and meditation practice isn't a better app — it's a letter through the door? Something physical, deliberate, and completely free of the medium that fractures attention in the first place.

Created by a qualified yoga instructor and therapist, each set is written from direct practice rather than accumulated theory. The aim is simple: to give practitioners — new and experienced alike — something worth returning to throughout the month.

"The most profound practices are not complicated. They are simply done consistently, with care."

— Letters of Presence, founding principle

We ship once a month. We print on paper that feels good to hold. We write as if we were writing to one person.

What guides us

Four values. Applied to every set.

One thing at a time

We do not ask you to practise six things this month. We ask you to practise one thing — well, and with full attention.

Offline by design

There is no app. No member portal. No push notifications. A letter arrives. You open it. That is the whole experience.

Qualified, not commercial

Every set is written by a trained practitioner, not by a content calendar. We will not ship a theme we haven't lived with first.

For everyone curious

You do not need a yoga background to benefit from these letters. You need only a willingness to pay attention to something, once a month.
